Debbie completed her undergraduate studies in psychology with honours in 2005 working initially in disability support services and child protection. Whilst completing her Masters in Forensic Psychology she worked as an intern psychologist she worked for the Department of Community Services, for Corrective Services within the sex offender programmes unit and for Hunter and New England Health Forensic Psychological Services at Morisset Psychiatric Hospital. She has also worked as a group facilitator for a community based organisation assisting victims of sexual abuse. She also conducted research with the New South Wales Pre-Trial Diversion of Offenders Program addressing factors affecting reunification post treatment in families experiencing intrafamilial child sexual abuse.

Following her postgraduate studies Debbie began working as a consultant with Duffy Robilliard in mid-2009. Her areas of particular interest are offending behaviour in children and teenagers/the assessment and treatment of young offenders, attachment issues, mentally ill offenders, and trauma and resilience. She also provides treatment within a private practice setting to adolescents and adults focusing on numerous issues including mood disorders, PTSD, substance abuse, grief and bereavement, parenting issues and general mental health and social emotional issues.
